Student Executive Board of Akademi SagesOrganizes Charity and Community-Building Activities in Surabaya and Sidoarjo

The Student Executive Board (BEM) of Akademi Sages once again demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility through a charity initiative held on Monday, 8 December 2025. The activity was conducted at two locations, namely Tuhan Baik Orphanage in Surabaya and Sola Gratia Orphanage in Sidoarjo, featuring a series of programs including the distribution of basic food supplies as well as educational and recreational activities with the children. At Tuhan Baik Orphanage in Surabaya, BEM Sages not only distributed basic necessities but also organized a cooking activity together with the children. This cooking session focused on making churros and was designed to be both interactive and educational. The children showed great enthusiasm as they participated in every stage, from the introduction of ingredients to the cooking process. The sense of togetherness was further strengthened through various games aimed at enhancing engagement, creativity, and joy among the children. The activity was carried out in a warm and cheerful atmosphere, filled with laughter and a strong spirit of togetherness. Meanwhile, at Sola Gratia Orphanage in Sidoarjo, BEM Sages conducted the distribution of basic food supplies as a form of support for fulfilling the children’s essential needs. The distribution was carried out an orderly manner and in a family-like atmosphere, accompanied by direct interaction between the students and the children at the orphanage.

Through this charity initiative, BEM Sages hopes to foster a spirit of empathy, solidarity, and social awareness among students, while also providing a positive impact on the community, particularly for children living in orphanages. This activity also serves as a tangible manifestation of the role of students as agents of change who are not only focused on academic pursuits, but are also actively involved in social and humanitarian efforts. BEM Sages remains committed to continuously presenting sustainable social programs that are beneficial and to strengthening the relationship between educational institutions and the wider community.
