Welcoming the 2026 Academic Year, Akademi Sages Holds New Student Orientation with a Series of Educational Activities

Surabaya — In welcoming the 2026/2027 academic year, Akademi Sages organized a series of new student orientation activities from August 10 to 14, 2026. The program was designed not only to introduce students to the campus environment, but also to equip them with knowledge, insights, and experiences that will support their learning process and personal development throughout their studies at Akademi Sages. The series of activities began with a Parents Gathering on August 10, 2026. Through this event, Akademi Sages invited parents of new students to gain a deeper understanding of the campus environment, facilities, education system, and learning process that their children will experience. During the event, parents were given a campus tour to explore the various facilities available at Akademi Sages. They also attended sessions on child development and the importance of understanding each individual’s interests and talents as part of providing appropriate support throughout their educational journey. The Parents Gathering was also held in conjunction with an Education Fair, featuring several education agencies and international higher education institutions that partner with Akademi Sages. Parents and students had the opportunity to learn more about educational facilities, academic programs, as well as further study and career development opportunities available through Akademi Sages’ international partnerships.

On the second day, new students began their orientation program with a range of fundamental topics essential to university life. These included the student code of conduct, responsible and ethical use of social media, discipline, as well as students’ attitudes and responsibilities. In addition to sessions delivered by internal representatives, Akademi Sages invited several external speakers to broaden the students’ knowledge and perspectives. One of the participating institutions was the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Center (BP3MI), which provided information on employment opportunities, procedures, and important considerations for working overseas. The session was expected to provide valuable preparation for students who may wish to pursue international career opportunities in the future. In addition to career-related insights, students also received health education delivered by Adi Husada Hospital. Through this session, students were encouraged to develop a greater awareness of the importance of maintaining their health as an essential part of being prepared for both academic activities and their future professional lives.

On the third and fourth days, the orientation program became more interactive through experiential learning activities. Students were challenged to understand the basic process of developing a business, creating products, planning marketing strategies, and selling the products they had developed. As part of the activity, students gained hands-on experience by selling their products to staff members and several guests at K Gallery Hotel. This activity provided students with practical insight into how an idea can be transformed into a marketable product while simultaneously developing their communication, teamwork, decision-making, and customer service skills. Through the Sages Student Orientation (SSO) 2026, Akademi Sages seeks to provide an orientation experience that goes beyond introducing students to campus life. The program also offers meaningful experiences that are closely aligned with the competencies students will develop throughout their studies.

The wide range of activities provided from the beginning of their academic journey is expected to better prepare new students for the learning experience at Akademi Sages. Through character development, health awareness, an understanding of international career opportunities, and entrepreneurial experience, students are encouraged to become adaptable, creative, and professional individuals who are ready to develop their full potential.

The orientation program also serves as an important first step for new students to become familiar with the learning culture at Akademi Sages, build relationships within the campus community, and prepare themselves for their academic and professional journeys in the future.
