Achieving International Recognition at the Young Chef Grand Prix & FHA Dessert Challenge 2026: Akademi Sages Students Bring Home Medals

Singapore – Akademi Sages has once again recorded a proud achievement on the international stage through the participation of its students in the Young Chef Grand Prix and FHA Dessert Challenge 2026, organized by Food and Hospitality Asia. This prestigious competition was held from April 21–24, 2026, at Singapore Expo, Singapore, and is recognized as one of the largest culinary events in Asia, bringing together talented young chefs from various countries. The competition forms part of a large-scale international exhibition in the food and hospitality industry, serving as a strategic platform for professionals and emerging talents to demonstrate creativity, technical skills, and innovation in the fields of culinary arts and pastry. Participants are required to meet high standards, ranging from cooking techniques and presentation aesthetics to concept development and globally competitive flavors. In this competition, two students from Akademi Sages delivered outstanding performances. Syakila Lintang Az-Zahra was awarded a Silver Medal in the Golden Poultry category, which evaluates advanced poultry preparation techniques, including ingredient selection, cooking methods, and final presentation. Meanwhile, Felita Adhikang earned a Bronze Medal in the Plated Dessert and Glass Dessert category, which demands high creativity in crafting visually appealing desserts with balanced flavors and innovative use of ingredients.
Hardo, Head of Student Affairs, stated that “this achievement serves as a strong indicator that Akademi Sages students possess global competitiveness and are capable of adapting to the evolving standards of the international culinary industry.” He further emphasized that “this success is inseparable from the institution’s commitment to providing comprehensive support to students, both academically and non-academically.” The Director of Akademi Sages, Drs. Bawa Mulyono Hadi, M.M., also highlighted that this accomplishment is the result of synergy between students’ dedication, quality mentorship, and an academic environment that fosters creativity and professionalism. “Participation in international competitions is not merely about winning awards, but also about gaining valuable learning experiences in understanding global industry standards. We remain committed to supporting our students in achieving excellence on the world stage,” he stated. Participation in international competitions such as this is part of Akademi Sages’ strategic efforts to strengthen its position as a globally oriented vocational institution in the fields of culinary arts and tourism. It also serves as an avenue to expand international networks and enhance the institution’s visibility within the global industry.
