Workshop Culinary and Baking Pastry for Hundreds of Metta School Students

Sages Academy welcomed an educational visit from Metta School, attended by 118 students, as part of a culinary arts learning program. The activity was held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the professional kitchen facilities of Sages Academy. During the program, the students participated in hands-on cooking practice by preparing two dishes, namely bitter ballen and putri mandi. The practical session was directly guided by Chef Thjing and Chef Mahmudi, professional instructors at Sages Academy, who provided comprehensive guidance ranging from ingredient introduction and cooking techniques to food presentation.

The activity was conducted in an interactive atmosphere filled with enthusiasm. The students not only gained direct cooking experience but also developed an understanding of basic culinary techniques, teamwork, and the implementation of hygiene and occupational safety standards in a professional kitchen environment. The accompanying teacher from Metta School, Mr. Kevin Christian, expressed his pleasure and appreciation for the successful implementation of the program. According to him, the activity provided valuable learning experiences for the students in acquiring practical culinary skills. “This activity is highly beneficial, as the students are able to learn cooking skills directly in a professional kitchen environment. This experience will certainly broaden their knowledge and increase their interest in the field of culinary arts,” said Mr. Kevin Christian. The purpose of this educational visit was to enhance students’ insights into the culinary arts, while also providing a clear and practical overview of vocational education and professional careers in the culinary field. Sages Academy remains committed to supporting educational initiatives and collaborations with various educational institutions as part of its efforts to develop the competencies of the younger generation.
